This old razor strop is marked (embossed) "Rolls Razor ~ Made in England ~ xxxx ~ THE WHETTER". The fabulous nickel plated case features 3 rows of embossed Greek Key design with the company logo on the front and patent information on the back. It opens on each side: one is lined with leather, and the other side is lined with stone. The handle is locked into place and is designed to push the blade on the stone, and to pull it on the strop. The blade is delicately hand engraved and says "Best Sheffield Sheet" on one side and Rolls Razor Patent No 224-578 & xxxx18 on the other. The stone is cracked in 2 spots.
From the very early xxxxs until xxxx, Rolls Razor of London, England produced and some of the finest razors ever made. Known the world over, they were ingeniously engineered and superbly constructed.
